It was the words, “I will not forget”, inscribed at the back of the Pod Case, that had me jumping on the bandwagon of C.O Design Labs latest design project. Designed by product-and-graphic designer Joyce Kang, the Pod Case takes us down memory lane to the days when the must-have tech device was the miniature iPod.
Created for Caseology, the Pod Case’s key USP is its ability to change the form factor of the Apple Watch Series 4. How you might ask? Well, it allows Pod Case user to pop their Apple watch-face into the silicone case, giving the Apple Watch wearer a different user experience.
Aesthetically, the silicone Pod Case has been created to resemble the iconic iPod mini with one small catch; the navigation click wheel does not actually work. Disappointing? Yes, but I am optimistic that the non-functional wheel could, in theory, function via Bluetooth.
On the future of the Pod Case, Yeonsoo Kang, told Gizmodo.com, that the device is “coming soon,” and we are hoping that it will be sooner rather than later.
